Abstract: In this paper, active fault detection is used to detect hardware failure in Linear Controller. Auxiliary test signal is chosen as sine signal. Then frequency and magnitude of sine signal is designed according to bode plot of linear controller. Linear controller outputs, which go to dynamic system, must not been affected by auxiliary signal, because any small change in linear control output could mislead dynamic system. Thus linear controller output and auxiliary signal output must be separated. After separation, auxiliary output indicate fault status of linear controller hardware. Paper provide novel design to separate controller output and auxiliary signal output perfectly. © 2020 IEEE.
