Dış Ticarette Ürün/Ülke Çeşitliliği ve Firma Performansı: Türkiye Örneği

Abstract

We examine the employment effects of foreign affiliation in Turkey by using a recent firm level dataset over the period 2003-12. We establish treatment models and investigate the employment changes of firms via foreign direct investment by using Propensity Score Matching (PSM) techniques together with Difference-in-Difference (DID) estimates. By widening the time horizon of the post-treatment period, we construct two different groups of treatment in order to see how strong the sustainability of positive effects of fdi on employment. Our results robustly show that fdi acquisition improves firm level of employment immediately after the acquisition and, this effect is sustainable even in the preceding years.

Çalışmada doğrudan yabancı yatırımların istihdam üzerimdeki etkilerini 2003-12 zaman aralığında firma düzeyinde bir veri setini kullanarak incelemekteyiz. Analizlerde örneklem seçim problemini önleyecek şekilde, doğrudan yabancı yatırım alma durumunu içeren uygulama (treatment) modelleri oluşturmakta ve bu modellere Eğilim Skoru Eşleştirmesi (Propensity Score Matching) tekniği ile birlikte Fark-içinde-Fark (Difference-in-Difference) tekniğini uygulamaktayız. doğrudan yabancı yatırmların firma istihdamı üzerindeki sürdürülebilir etkililerini görebilmek üzere uygulama sonrası zaman periyodunu uzatmakta farklı uygulama grupları oluşturmaktayız. Çalışmanın sonuçları firmaların istihdam düzeyinin doğrudan yabancı yatırım almanın hemen ardından artırdığını ve bu etkinin takip eden yıllarda da sürdüğünü göstermektedir.
