With this aim, 61 mother-adolescent pairs were recruited and semi-structured interviews were applied to all participants in the laboratory settings individually. In the interviews applied to each pairs (mother-adolescent) individually, adolescents were asked about how they wanted to be in the future as a woman/as a man and their mothers were asked about how they want their daughter/son to be in the future as a woman/as a man. After each participant’s answer was transcribed individually, their answers were investigated qualitatively. Thematic units in their answers were determined, and those thematic units were placed under the three categories: Femininity, Masculinity, Natural. Also, participants’ answer were tested with a non-parametric statistical test (chi-square) in order to compare the frequency of categories that is used by a) mother-adolescent pairs b) girls-boys c) girls’ mothers-boys’ mothers. The results indicated significant differences in the frequency of main categories used by girls’ mothers-boys’ mothers and girls-boys.
