Abstract: The energy transition and on-going crises in Ukraine and the Middle East highlights the need for new approaches in energy diplomacy. This policy brief examines Turkiye's energy dynamics in relation to BRICS's role in global energy politics. It presents continuities in Turkiye's asymmetric interdependence with Russia in energy imports; and questions the major challenges for Turkiye and BRICS in adapting to new energy security environment and new geographies of energy trade. The argument asserts that Turkish policymakers should consider the country's role in global energy trade and its multilateral transportation policy, known as the Middle Corridor within the context of shifting paradigms in energy security and on-going energy transition.
