Abstract: This paper investigates the influence of the World War One and the Peace Conferences on the post-1918 conlicts in Anatolia. The paper argues that the "war" continued up until 1939 - albeit in different forms - for two principal reasons: the population policies pursued by the Committee of Union and Progress during the Great War and the failure of the peace conferences to implement the Wilsonian Principles.
