Biography
Cihan Tekoğlu graduated from Anatolian Lycée of Ankara, French Division, in 1994. He completed his undergraduate education in 2000, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey). During his doctoral studies in the field of "Micromechanics of Materials", from 2007 to 2010, he worked as a research assistant at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials, University of Groningen (Groningen, Netherlands). Between 2007 and 2010, he worked at the Catholic University of Louvain, Institute of Mechanical, Materials and Civil Engineering (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium), as a postdoctoral research assistant. He been working as a faculty member at TOBB ETU Mechanical Engineering Department since 2011. His research interests span different areas of macro/micro mechanics of materials, with a particular focus on metamaterials, and understanding and improving the fracture behavior of metals and composites. He conducts experimental and theoretical/numerical studies in the fields of Fracture Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Cellular Solids, Lattice Materails, Multifunctional Structures and Materials.
