Under the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design department is a highly regarded and extensional discipline which covers interior spatial considerations and external influences such as art, science and technology. In addition, creating a mature knowledge in the field of interior architecture and environmental design; space orientation methods, materials, technological and functional requirements this education needs to give special emphasis on details, color, texture, light and acoustics.
TOBB Economy and Technology University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design undergraduate program consists of 8 regular semesters and 3 cooperative education semesters, 11 semesters in total. This education program is grounded on four main modules/blocks + elective courses which are constructed consecutively and complementary as such:

• Interior Architectural Studios
• Spatial Theories, Histories and Cultures
• Presentation Techniques
• Structures, Materials and Applications
• + elective courses.

These education modules/blocks are entitled within frame work of studios, culture, structure and presentation courses. This classification of courses provides them a flexible context that can be easily adapted and changed regarding contemporary issues of interior architectural discipline.
Main objectives of this department are to establish knowledge, experience and skills for interior architects as following;

• Practical expertise: reinforcing an advance theoretical knowledge with professional experience
• Creative Design skills: thinking, methods, processes and components of innovative design solution including technical and digital capabilities
• Foundation for life-long learning: course pathways to postgraduate qualifications
• Intellectual enquiry: theoretical, historical and cultural research-based spatial issues.
• Technical skills: drafting, documentation, contracting administration.




Mimarlık ve Tasarım Fakültesi bünyesinde yer alan İç Mimarlık ve Çevre Tasarımı bölümü, mekânsal değerlendirmeleri, sanat, bilim ve teknoloji gibi dış etkileri kapsayan oldukça saygın ve yaygın bir disiplindir. Ayrıca iç mimarlık ve çevre tasarımı eğitimimde olgun bir bilgi birikimini yaratmak için; teknolojik ve işlevsel gereksinimlerin yanı sıra, renk, doku, ışık ve akustik gibi konulara önem verilmesi gerekmektedir.

TOBB Ekonomi ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi, İç Mimarlık ve Çevre Tasarımı Bölümü lisans programı 8 yarıyıl ve 3 ortak eğitim yarıyılı olmak üzere toplam 11 yarıyıldan oluşmaktadır. Bu eğitim programı, birbirini takip eden ve birbirini tamamlayan dört ana modül/blok + seçmeli dersler üzerine kuruludur:

• Mekânsal Teoriler, Tarihler ve Kültürler
• Sunum Teknikleri
• Yapılar, Malzemeler ve Uygulamalar
• + seçmeli dersler.

Bu eğitim modülleri stüdyo, kültür, yapı ve sunum çerçevesinde isimlendirilir. Derslerin bu sınıflandırması, onlara iç mimarlık disiplininin güncel konularına göre kolayca uyarlanabilen ve değiştirilebilen esnek bir bağlam sağlar.
Bu bölümün temel amaçları, iç mimarlara aşağıdaki bilgi, deneyim ve becerileri kazandırmaktır;

• Pratik uzmanlık: ileri düzeyde teorik bilgiyi mesleki deneyimle pekiştirmek
• Yaratıcı Tasarım becerileri: teknik ve dijital yetenekler dahil olmak üzere yenilikçi tasarım çözümünün düşünme, yöntemler, süreçler ve bileşenleri
• Yaşam boyu öğrenmenin temeli: lisansüstü yeterliliklere giden kurs yolları
• Entelektüel araştırma: teorik, tarihi ve kültürel araştırmaya dayalı mekânsal konular.
Teknik beceriler: taslak hazırlama, dokümantasyon, sözleşme yönetimi.
